Hi I'm a newbie from California. I'm 63 and sort of got into Witchcraft when I was in my 40's but for the wrong reasons. Did some stupid things and realized it and gave it up.  Last Spring I walked away from Christianity.  It's been part of my life off and on but there is so much I can't accept that I'm done with it for good now.  For the last couple of months I have been inhaling everything I can find on Wicca and I really think this is where I belong. To honor the Earth that has gone through so much suffering for us. I want to help it heal in my small way. I may even become a vegetarian (but don't quote me!)  The more I read the more meat is turning me off and I'm not sure why but I will go with it.
Blessings all

Hello Everyone!

I am very new, meaning I have very little knowledge of Wicca. I am very eager to learn, but I am at a loss on how to begin this journey. I want to begin at the beginning ;) and see where I could end up. I am hoping to find peace with myself and others, as well as connect on a deeper level with the people and things around me.

Well-intentioned guidance is much appreciated! Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to be here. I hope to find my way around the boards soon so that i may begin to use the knowledge available here.

Hi everyone, you may not remember me but I went under the name of Odbe here quite a few years ago. For those who do I apologise for the shedding of pink fluff. At that time I thought I found in warm fuzzy Wicca my destiny/lifelong faith/goddess-chosen path etc. but I gradually became more eclectic and less misty-eyed.

I now know my enquiries had just begun and I'm interested in a broader scope of paganism, largely totemism, earth and animal related magic, chaos-magic and liberally applying eclecticism without becoming a cultural tourist.

I returned here because I want a more academic knowledge of Wicca and neopaganism. I feel they are my roots and I want to be able to explain them clearly to other people, but my definitions are fuzzy and it seems like the New Age movement has leaked into itself all over the place. With a scatterbrained knowledge of general history, I want to find out as much fact about Wicca and its history as possible, and I remember this forum as an excellent (and friendly and entertaining) resource.

Welcome back.

Here's a good starting point for getting into the actual history of Wicca:

Hello all! Obviously I'm new here and this is where my path to the divine has led me. I hope to get to know you all and have many friends in my adventures.
P.S. Eden's Garden is my sister and I was told to mention that I'm Grant's mommy.  :)

THIS WOMAN IS MY SISTER, AND I LOVE HER! That being said, she will be joining us at Beltane, and her joining the forums is the best thing to have happened to me all year!
