Phoenix, I meant in no way on my part to imply that anyone should not follow his/her heart.  You should absolutely follow the spirituality that speaks to you. I was talking about the  labels people use and semantics and that's all.  Blessed Be.

Yep, we're good Phoenix.

The funny thing is, many people feel they need to have a label of some kind; it gives them an identity of sorts. I think its perhaps feeling cut loose without that tag.

I still label myself as a pagan. I just know that I add a lot of things to my practice, such as meditating to the memory of the Buddha, I believe in the universal Tao that cannot be named, however to understand it in me I split it into the Goddess and the God.

So yea in some ways I do not label myself and in some ways I do.

All my good thoughts to the family.

As to my own child...  You think about touching her and you'll be pulling back a nub.  (possibly from her; she is fierce  ;D)

I don't hide what I believe, but I do NOT advertise it either (Draco  :) ).  The people that have tried to preach to me over the years, have found themselves set back on their heels because in the end, I know the spirit of their book better than they do.  In fact, it was forbidden for two of the local churches to send missionaries to my door because I converted the first ones they sent.  What did I convert them to?  Their own free thinking.  The three greatest gifts ever given to me were:
1.  The lesson that I should not follow others blindly; that I should think and reason for myself.
2.  The courage to walk away from others' path.
3.  The strength to walk my own.

I received all of these gifts from my father who was head elder for a Christian church and who taught me magic from birth, just as I am teaching my daughter.  No, the two are not mutually exclusive.
