The late, great George Carlin once said: "Religion is like a lift in your shoe. It helps you walk straight, until you don't need it anymore. And we certainly shouldn't be going out and nailing lifts to the natives' feet"
THAT is a valuable truth.
For some, religion IS that lift. Others need, or at least could use that lift. Still others have no use for the lift at all, regardless of whether they need it or not.
I was not only never asked to ever again provide sound support for my local "Pagan Pride Day", but I was asked to not attend. The comparison was made to "Jesus and the money-changers". As long as it is a PUBLIC event, (and in the absence of a court order), I DO and WILL attend. And I will continue to call BS when and where I see it. But then, I would do the same for any of the "nice folks" in the pictures.
