I found this on a site called Goddess School.  I cannot find any info on Fluxwort.  It may be an old name for something else.  Hedgeberry appears to be any red or dark berry grown on a hedge.
Do not ingest Mistletoe Berries, they can cause convulsions.

In her mysterious cauldron, according to ancient Celtic legend, Cerridwen prepared a potion of enlightenment for her son that consisted of the yellow flowers of the cowslip, fluxwort, hedgeberry, vervain, the berries of the mistletoe (a plant sacred to the Druids), and the foam of the ocean. It was warmed by the breath of nine maidens, and required brewing for a year and a day.

ETA:  I did finally find something on flux wort.  It is in the same family as Milkweed.  Also called Pleurisy Root.

That was the source to which I posted the link earlier in the thread. It was the only source I found that listed actual ingredients instead of just referring to them as 'The Six Herbs'.

I can see why substitutions where used. Foam of the ocean is not easy to come by. Distilled
water would work.

well, I could get it rather easily, I live 1 1/2 miles from the ocean, but I can't see how someone in Iowa could... unless there is an aquarium nearby (really, I was only kidding). I wonder if there is a suitable substitute. Hmmmm... how could one cause salt water to foam??? I shall research this now.

OOOOkay... according to this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_foam , seafoam is caused by broken down organic matter, ie; decayed algae. so, not sure how to recreate that effect unless you own a small aquarium and can use a bit of the tank water added to a homemade salt water solution and then churn it up.

I'm assuming a drop of dish detergent added to a salt water solution and shaken until foamy would not be a suitable substitution.

Sorry to pipe in here, but I believe sea foam refers to the churning of the waters as they shoal rather than actual foam itself, I suspect the desired ingredient could be obtained simply by catching the sea spray.

We get sea foam here all the time.  It happens when a storm comes in and waves crash against the rocks.  The wind catches it and sends it all over the place.  It can be really slippery when its on the roads.  You would think it would be kinda pretty(think sea foam green paint) but its not.  Dirty looking and smells terrible...  Wonder if I could bottle it with date/time gathered and location and ship it...  LOL

I agree with Arn... it's not pretty, or pleasant smelling.

I don't think the salt + water + shake method would work... it would lack the decayed organic matter that would act as the surfactant. You might get bubbles for a minute or two that would dissipate, but you wouldn't get true 'foam'.
