What's your favorite holiday!?

So what is everyone's favorite holiday?  Regardless of religion. What makes it your favorite?

I am not sure of mine yet... Maybe Samhain because it smells beautiful!  ;D  And tastes better! I hope that someday I can be more open with my religion, or spiritual path, with my family and friends, so I can enjoy them without being alone and/or secluded in my bedroom :(.  Samhain makes it easy to do this because a lot of activities for Halloween are the same, so I can hang out with friends and family and enjoy the holiday season =)!

My birthday! I declare it a holiday, I get presents and every one is nice to me....that's so special!  ;D

Yule is my favorite celebration.  I love twinkling lights, the scent of pione, soft candle light, and feeling warm and cozy when the wind is blowing and the snow deep.  I love the solitude and quiet of winter.  To me, the Yule season is a time of quiet reflection, for dreaming and planning for the new year ahead.

My favorite holiday happens to be any one that brings my family together :)

But if I had to choose it would probably be Halloween. I just love the decorations and the sense of calm that comes on that night.

I, too, googled Festivus and the sites I went to made me laugh.  I'm one of those people who get depressed around Christmas and some years the idea of dragging out all the decorations and putting up a tree fill me with dread.  The idea of a plain pole sounds wonderfully silly and fun.

One of the sites said Festivus was for those who didn't identify with Christianity, Judaism, or Wicca.  While I consider myself a Christian with Paganistic leanings (yeah, I know I'm confused) sometimes I just want to chuck everything and start over.  Maybe, Festivus is the way to go.  More research is needed.

Oh I love the tree decorating best of all.

My Yule tree is always laden with gold and red and green. I have tiny apples and delicate little glass birds. My tree lights are in the shape of small red candles and as I live at the wrong end of the world I have a lot of fake Holly with berries which is made of papier mache and painted. I try to minimise the plastic elements - seems so wrong. .

It's a show piece it really is.
