Unfortunately not, I do love the sea though. I will take the opportunity when I can.
I'm in the midst of hilly landscape, wooded areas, mostly man planted rather than natural although there are some areas that have some older trees.

Well maybe when you go on vacation , you do get a vacation don't you ?. Don't know how things work over there. Have heard the the price of gas is real high .

Yes prices are high on fuel here, when theres a crisis the prices escalate, then when the crisis is over the strange thing is the prices don't come down again.

Currently petrol (gasoline) is at £1.45, not sure what the exchange rate is but maybe you would know? Diesel is £1.47 The two costs are usually close. Some garages charge more for fuel, depending on the town or city demographic.

Public transport does leave a lot to be desired believe me..... The ventilation systems only work on an ad-hoc basis, usually blow cold in the winter. Schedules are irregular more than on time, on occasion they don't turn up. The drivers can be a bit snarky (theres that word again ) even with the old and infirm. Quite often overcrowding occurs. and the condition of our roads don't exactly make for a comfortable journey.
Rail transport is expensive and due to rise yet again, in a lot of cases its cheaper to drive, and timings again can fall short.

There are many areas that are not adequately covered by public transport so, you see we're not like we once were. Better than some places in the world but not that many. 

Oh and BTW, They are a melting pot of disease and infection. I guarantee, wherever you sit on a bus, inevetibly the person sitting behind you is probably hacking or coughing or sneezing right by your ear. YEUCH!

Hear you Drac, buses are just transportation vehicles for plagues and stinky people. I' will say one thing there always on time here , at least in most place .

Ya know Yew would make a nice wand. Our Yew tree died in the drought this last summer, plus its very old. I've arranged to have another planted, so I think I will collect some tonite.

We've been faced with this kind of gap between your prices and ours for many years now. Every driver here obviously complains bitterly about it. As you can see our government don't give a monkeys **** about its people.

I had to give up my job because it was costing me too much to travel!

Yew is so hard to come by here, been trying to lay my hands on some for ages, I've been wanting to remake a new longbow.

Have plenty of Yew trees here only problem is they are protected , they harvest them to make Paclitaxel and Docetaxel used in cancer treatment. So unless it is on your property you can't touch it .
 
Long bow are nice , what is the draw weight on yours Drac , do you hunt or just do your sundays at the butts ?.

Not allowed to bowhunt in this country mate   

It was a 60lb draw at 30" but it had some damage. the repair has brought it down to probably about 35lb at a guess. 

I have my own straw butt that I can throw into the car.

Nice idea Aly, but it would cost too much to ship cos of the size.
