The next full moon
« on: October 16, 2012, 09:01:07 AM »

I believe that the next full moon, which will actually be a blue moon, will be on Halloween, because the full moon with start on the 29th. Am I correct in this information?
Also, does this mean anything special? What are some rituals that may be better under the full moon on Halloween? If that is any case at all, I'm asking because I honestly don't know.

We just had a blue moon at the end of August.  The next on isn't scheduled until 2015, at least where I live.  The moon is full on 10/29 but will be full on 9/29 so no blue moon in October.  The moon will not be full on Samhain.  It will ne waning by then.

Sorry but I'm afraid you've missed the blue moon, it was August end. A blue moon is actually when there are 13 full moons in a year instead of the usual 12. In August, there were 2 full moons occuring and this was its happening.

Many Pagans believe it is a night with extra powers because of its rare occurence but many believe otherwise. For myself it is no more powerful than any other full moon, but it's rarity is in itself special.

There's plenty info on line about Blue Moons, just type in "Pagan Blue Moon" as your search.

As they said, you've missed the Blue Moon of the year. I've seen two blue moons in my life so far.(I'm only 18.) I always find them Magickal because they only come around every now and then and they are unique. Of course they aren't necessarily blue but you can always imagine. I still say when I see them they are blue. Just a very light blue. :)

They occur about once every 2.5 to 3 years.  On very rare occasions you can get two blue moons in a single year.

Not as spectacular   as a harvest moon coming out of the Atlantic ocean , it looks about 10 times as big. and beautiful orange.  Or it was when I was a kid , hate how air pollution has  the colour .
