However, catnip tea has also been found to be quite beneficial in treating colds, fever, indigestion, mild astringent, dries up post nasal drip, gets rid of bad headaches and relieves sore aching bones due to colds and flu when taken in tea form, 2-3 times daily.
Catnip has also been shown to be employed successfully in a mosquito repellant when applied to the skin in a variety of lotions and ointments.
