Eihwaz (Pronunciation: Either eye-wahz or Eee-wahz) Symbolizes: Life and death, renewal, profound change and the Yew tree

The Eihwaz ("ï" (æ) rune) symbolizes ends leading to new beginnings. A re-growth from the passing of the old situation into the form of the new situation. All rites of passage, particularly those marking the transition into adulthood, contain the symbolism of death, the idea being that one’s former ‘self’ has died and given birth to a new persona.
Also, the Eihwaz rune symbolizes a Yew tree. The Yew tree is considered the Tree of Life due to its long lifespan. The Yew tree has mistakenly been linked with death because of the ancient practice of planting yew hedges around graveyards. But the real reason the Yew was planted was to keep out unwanted scavenging animals, as the evergreen Yew is both poisonous and impenetrable year-round.

Pendant measures approximately 3/4" wide by 1.5" high. Comes on a black cotton cord necklace that's adjustable between 18"-28" give or take an inch or two. Free USA Shipping!

Each leather Futhark rune pendant is handmade from real genuine leather. Edges are scallop and darkened for an aged rustic look. Because these items are individually handmade, each pendant will have slight variations in size, shape or color. Picture shows a sample of what you will receive.
