Title: Established Members Introduction
Post by: lucifer on January 01, 2013, 04:51:19 PM
I often see new members being prompted to give us a good introduction where it's been a little while for some of us and a long time for others and our introductions are out of scope or no longer existent. This thread is a place for anyone who wishes to post a re-introduction about themself so that any new member who comes here can know who is asking them to introduce themself!

I'll get the ball rolling:

My username is lucifer. My wife and I are a duo-solitary practicioners in Wicca. I hail from sunny California. I enjoy cats and am currently at a count of one indoor, three outdoor kept and three regular strays (at least). I believe that all things under the Goddess and the God are good (even when they aren't comfortable).

Now I'd like to open it up to anyone else who hasn't gotten a current intro up for us all to read! Thanks in advance & Blessed Be

I already have an intro in place; however it is the intro of a newbie. I will now offer my own member intro for perusal.

My name on site here is Draconis Rex; most folks here call me Drac or Draco, a few use DR. I am 49 and I live in the Scottish Borders; yep, the United Kingdom. I started off following a path I believed to be Wiccan, however as I travelled further down this path I feel my path has branched out more I’m still not quite sure where exactly yet but the foundation is Wiccan. I was brought up in the Baptist ministry but left that a long time ago. For a lot of years I collected information about occult related things (to me that included Paganism in all its many colours), it’s only over a recent period of time (I can’t pinpoint how long exactly) that I was able to sift out the wheat from the chaff, and put it all together. I am a cat lover but don’t have any, at least just now, and I have an affinity for dragons.

Your affinity for dragons is probably because you are one...

I am known on here as Arnemetia.  Arn for short.  I have been a moderator on here for almost 3 years and a member for, I am not sure how long.(5,6 years maybe)  I am 54 years young and live on the beautiful Oregon coast. I was blessed with an adopted mother who understood her wayward daughter and encouraged me to find my own path.  I have practiced Wicca as a solitary officially for about 15 years.  I am Wiccan, Witch and an ordained minister.  I offer my services to those wanting non-denominational weddings, etc.
My fiance' J and I have been together 17 1/2 years and share our home with two cats, Smokey and Emma. With a third possibly coming soon.  :)

theyd here; just completed the year and a day a few months ago;  still learning and studying.  Although I do not label myself I have been called a witch at times throughout my life.  Have some talents and just learning what they are called.  I live on a hill, in the middle of 300A., in middle TN.  Take care of three dogs and one cat.  Enjoy all animals.  My daughter and her little family lives just across the valley; when they are not gone off to work.  In a few short months I will be 60 and very excited about it too.

I am known as EBS.  I have been a member here since early 2004.  I was made a Moderator in 2007.  I would be considered a bad Wiccan by the devout.  I live in Texas, just south of Fort Worth.  I have two sons and I am engaged.

I do remember back when you became a moderator. gee that was going back to my beginnings sort of...

I'm Soulfire.  not a mod, just an irritant. my path has become more MINE over the years- morphed into what it should've been... back in 2003ish I studied Wicca, realized it was close but not for me and went on a search that unfortunately DID NOT include my own heart and I wasted much time. Hello.

I joined TCC nearly three years ago when I was going through some type of spiritual crisis.  The crisis is a long, complicated story, but the most important details are:  I am Roman Catholic, I live in an area that has been hit very hard by the Catholic Church scandal, and in order to feel connected to God, I use some of what I learned from studying Pagan and other world religions.  I am an exceedingly shy individual and although joining a message forum should be easy, for me it was a major life decision.  Of course, it was also a good decision.  The members who supported me by PM and email have made a difference in my life.

I have a tendency to lurk and not post much, so I do not know if anyone remembers that I was ever here.  Probably no one noticed that I disappeared completely for about a year.  Well, if it matters to anyone, I think I will be logging in again from time to time.  And if I actually write more posts than just this one, I will have to consider it major progress in overcoming shyness.  I really do love you guys and this place.  I just don’t express it too well.

LOVE this thread..awesome idea, thank you. It's the perfect place for an old one like me that's been AWOL for awhile and need to say hello to all my 'old' friends and introduce myself to hopefully new friends.
I'm Amythestorm, 'old' friends call me Amy and new friends are welcome to do so also. I will be 44 yrs. on this earth next Thursday, married for the second time & mother of 3 (2 my own and 1 step). I have 3 cats and 4 of their off -spring (up for grabs), 8 chickens and a roo. I live on a small farm in NW Pa.
I follow a loose wiccan path. Still learning new things about myself and my surroundings everyday, but enjoying life here on earth as much as possible. I've missed the connections I had here and hope to reconnect and make new ones as well. :)

Always good to see our prodigals returning, Welcome back to the forum. It will probably take a little while to catch up on things again but I'm sure you'll find some of it entertaining, if not, downright outrageous!  :-p :o

You have quite the menagerie, LoL what fun! ;D  I'll just stick to my fishes..... at least for the time being. Marisol keeps bugging me to take on a cat/s, as much as I love them I'm not ready to yet.

Feel free to jump in where you will, look forward to seeing you on the boards.

I'm Khara.  I'm a witch.  In the mid to late 80's I was part of a Wiccan coven, I did my year and a day with them and stayed for a few years more.  In the end though, I didn't find what I was looking for with Wicca.  It deviated too much from the Path on which I was raised.  Since then I've been mainly solitary.  I've participated in a few local group things but for the most part, it is just myself and my children.

I've been following this Path for my whole life, I was raised this way so it is truly the only way I've known.

Hi I'm Eartha. Some people called me Scorched, Scorchy or SE. A lot of people call me other things, but the age rating for the site doesn't allow me to say those.

I'm partly pagan, partly anarchist, but almost pure troll.

I live in Australia, so I'm rude, crude, uncultured and loud. I take a while to get used to, but once you've acquired the taste for me I'm told it can be quite palatable. TCC Mods for example are very tolerant of me.

I came here initially in 2010 because I stalk Serp. I think he secretly likes it.

That whole restraining order thing was just him playing hard to get.

Eliza here, aka CatShadow.  Been a member since 04/2010, have made an underwhelming number of posts.  Got involved in a Quaker online community there for a while, decided that what I was looking for in that liberal group was not freedom of religiion, but freedom from religion, especially freedom from the Abrahamic religions.  I have studied the bible and religion for years, but just can't find any logic in any of them.

If I were looking for the best fit to describe my spiritual, not religious, outlook on what its all about on this little blue dot we call home, I would describe myself as a panentheist.  Not to be considered the same as pantheist.  There is a difference.

I live in the Pacific Northwest.  Have a couple of acres here that I share with my agnostic husband, a dog and catand a parakeet in the house,  several chickens in the yeard, a couple of guinea pigs in the greenhouse.  Then there are the wildies, great horned owls, rabbits, gray and brown squirels, quarrelsome crows and jays, spotted towhees and juncos and other assorted birds.  Not to mention the bats.   We keep a veggie garden, I freeze a years worth each harvest time.  Also freeze the wild blackberrie and red huckleberry.  I dry more for soups.
and also raise and dry herbs for cold and flu remedies, for teas and treatments, and harvest some wild herbs.  I don't touch the mushrooms, not knowledgeable enough.

Aneeeeewaaaaa..............

I don't know how "established" I am but someone suggested on a thread i started that I introduce myself when I had already in February so it must have been a less than stellar introduction!

I'll try to do better this time. :)

I'm a baby Wiccan but have been following a Pagan path my entire life.

The more I practice Wicca the more "myself" I feel.

It's hard, living uncomfortably in your own skin for 50 years.

I've come out of the broom closet to family, co-workers, and have been outed in a big way in the little country neighborhood I live in. I'm okay with that, for the most part. (More on that another day)

So far I'm reading a lot, mostly from the recommended book lists but I have ventured out on my own.

Found a really nice Wiccan shop about an hour and a half south of here that I just fell in love with, although I am in little need of supplies, other than some herbs and oils.

I try to observe the lunar cycles when they occur; not just the esbats, the Sabbats, of course, and I have a shrine to the goddess in my room so I do some morning rituals and offerings when I have time. I've just started my lessons in Tarot and am doing well. My chosen deck is the Enchanted Tarot and I do like it, very much.

I have an inside altar and an outside circle of stones with a permanent altar; not sure how I'll handle snow season- probably pack it all in until spring!

I am 52, the eldest sibling of many; the peacemaker of the family. I'm married with two adult children, one at home, one living about 2.5 hours south. I've always been the odd one out and they are all just discovering HOW odd. It's okay, though, they've come to expect just about anything from me. :)

I'm owned by a little burned pumpkin muffin colored kitty named Ruby and a giant half St. Bernard named Elise who isn't half as regal as her name might imply. She is responsible for the torn meniscus I am currently sporting. :)

I've been away a bit and my participation will continue to be sporadic due to family concerns however I really enjoy my time spent here.

It's ... Homey.

Thanks again for having me. :)

It's one thing asking newbies to introduce themselves, but with this thread in place; it gives them a chance to know who it is they are introducing themselves to.

Thanks for posting here Rose, another standing intro is always good for us. We are pleased to have you here, another voice to learn and to help teach and guide if and when you can.

Hello,

I have been here off and on for years. This year has not been the greatest for me health wise, work wise and home wise so I have been keeping to myself and just surviving.

I am Wiccan and a Witch. Very happy with my beliefs and very much out with anyone who wants to know, or cares to know. I completed my year and a day about 7 years ago. I am solitary and happy that way though I have participated in rituals gatherings with other solitarys in the area.

I am a teacher of special needs children in a middle school. Though last year I taught reading to 7th grade students in regular education classes. Loved the fact that the administration did not think my students would have learning gains on the state testing *behavior problems abound* however, my students made learning gains so much so we were the highest in the school. Now that the pat on the back is done on to introductions.

I have 3 children. Two are grown and the youngest is going into the 8th grade. I learned today I am going to be a grandmother, my oldest daughter is pregnant. I told her to not have any children..but we all know how well kids listen. lol

Congrats on your upcoming event, I know exactly what you mean about kids listening. My daughter did that to me about 9 years ago then my son a few years after that. I'm a granddad twice over. Prepare to be wrapped around the little fingers...LoL

Hi all!  I didn't think I did a great job introducing myself in the new member thread, and I'm not EXACTLY established, But I'll take a stab at introducing myself here. I'm a long time (20 years) witch and newly minted BTW.  This is exactly the right path for me and I'm thrilled. My training spanned from the San Francisco Bay Area to the middle of Tornado Alley, where I teach preschool and rescue cats when I'm not dodging really scary weather.  I love old book stores, baking and helping animals have a better life. My husband is my magical partner and life mate of 43 years, a true friend.
I'm looking forward to learning more about different paths in the Craft (perspective and balance!) and hopefully making new friends.
BB and good fortune....

I wouldn't call myself established but I'm back  :-p. Been away for a while and my need to focus on learning more about my path has taken hold again. I don't have a particular path currently and I'm just learning as much as I can. I joined last year and between work and a new girlfriend, I dedicated my time elsewhere. Been catching up on some reading here on the site and lots of new information to take in. I'm glad to be back and its good to see some familiar faces are still around  :).

Figured I may as well pop back in, it's only been about a year.

I'm Andy, I've been around (back when I was active) since before TI was truly temporary (y'know before it became permanent).

I used to be a Mod, but stepped away due to RL things, and my general distaste at some of things which were becoming common-place both on, and around the boards, some of which don't need bringing back towards the light TBH.

If someone were to ask my path, I'd generally give them some sarcastic comment on it being Tarmac (asphalt) or occasionally paving slabs. I don't follow any religion, I don't particularly practice any spiritual beliefs, I do however like reading. And as a scientist, this board gives me a whole pile of empirical 2nd and 3rd hand evidence from which to collate information, from which I can draw some conclusions that eventually I'll get around to testing... Maybe.

I'm pretty much the definition of an armchair occultist (if I owned an arm chair that is).

IRL, I spend most of my time playing scientist in an asbestos detection and identification lab, drinking, or doing very little else tbh.

Maybe this time I'll stick around a little longer if I find something that really grabs my interest.

Wot-Ho Andy, Welcome back to the boards. Yup you got over a year of stuff to catch up on, the highs and the lows, the new and the old, the good and the bad, it's all here......somewhere!

There's been a few science oriented topics since you were last here, I'm sure you'll be able to input to. Other than that welcome back and enjoy.

I am known on here as arrowolf. I have been a member for just over 2 years now. I know I haven't put very many posts on here, but I do still get on from time to time to do some valuable reading. I am almost 40 (one month to go), and I work way to much and have gone back to school to earn a business degree.

The path that I follow is more of an earth-based path. I don't get to practice much other than to meditate, and keep in touch with the connections I have to the earth, animals, and those family members that I chose to have a deep connection with. I don't do formal rituals as what you read in a book or do as a member of a group or coven, but I do show my respect for the things that I do. This is the best place I have been to, to hear and exchange ideas and feel comfortable with who you are.

Hello and Merry Meet~*

I would just like to reintroduce myself as well.  I have not been on here since last Fall semester of college I do believe.  :)  I could not juggle my path, sadly, and college at the same time.  However, I am more focused and organized that I would like to dedicate more time out for the TCC forums and Wicca and begin exploring witchcraft again.  ;D ;D ;D

I hope to get to know new members and hopefully see some familiar ones around on the boards as well.

Blessed Be☆

Hi everyone. Oh my, I have not been here in AGES! Does anyone even remember me? :P
I have to admit, I have been a bit lost for a while. But, I am getting my life back on track, and along the way I found myself back in the loving embrace of the God and Goddess.
There are so many things yet to learn, so I decided to see how things were going here.

Hello everyone
I myself am brand new here.  JUST started reading/learning about Wicca and hope to have a long fulfilling path in it.  Any help/guidance/point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
Have read Scott Cunningham's first book so far.

Welcome aboard Mel, enjoy your time with us and may you find all you seek. You are off to a good start with Cunningham, always an excellent basis, and a worthy reference for later on down your path no matter what path you end up on.

Dear Melunia,
Merry Meet!  Scott Cunningham is an excellent introduction to the elements, energy manipulation, and white magic!  Especially his early works.  I have also found everything by Ellen Dugan very helpful over the years.  Although I have also studied (not practiced) what I, personally, consider to be the "darker" side of magic,  sticking with the "light" paths of positivity have always found me in good stead.  3 times 3.... Ellen Dugan is very positive in this way.
Bright Blessings,
RHW

OK, don't know if you can call me established... wait... sorry, confused that for stable for a second! LOL!

Well, been here some time with an on again, off again timing. Seem to be on more lately for the time being.
I'm 46 at this posting, married to a lax Southern Baptist and have one just barely adult son. I've been pagan my entire adult life starting with research into Wicca, though I've always had interests in things occult related. My first run through was as a pre-teen in the ESP and hauntings sections of my local library.  Anywhoo...  that'd be me.

I've changed a lot, I have become a teacher for a few people, Kundalini completed, I've seen people die, I've learned what the harsher side of the world holds and what it means to help others, I've learned compassion and humility, I'm happy to reintroduce myself as a far more humble and less obnoxious person, with a far firmer grip on not only reality but myself, I want to thank everyone on this forum for the guidence and advice given, especially our firebreathimg admin Drac.  :)

Been many, many moons  since I was last here!! The "seasoned" members may or may not remember me as the crafty, "mouthy" Frau.... lol! See lots of names I remember! About me- fluent in sarcasm, still crafty, still undefined solitary pagan-just years and years older! Glad to see so many parts of TCC that I loved so much! TI- spent lots of time there and the Kiva!!

Am I 'established'? Who knows. I've been knocking around a while, but I've taken a bit of a break.

I am Sio, and I spent a fair whack of my childhood bouncing round the Irish care system before pinging out the other end, winding up in the UK, living in a flat with former TCC member MoonShadow, who some of you may remember, who I've know since forever. I sort of stumbled across Paganism by accident really, and it fits better than anything else ever did! Certainly something I have gone back to, which is more than can be said for just about anything else. So I guess that's me.

Ashe here. You may also know me as Ragnell.  Like many, I've been MIA for some months.  I've missed TCC, and had to come back.  For those who don't know me I'm a retired Montessori teacher and I practice Wicca, though I enjoy learning about other pagan paths, too.  Love to talk shop so I'm hoping this site will rock'n'roll again.  New members feel free to jump in and have your say...
