Goddess figurine
« on: November 02, 2015, 04:30:32 PM »

I made this today, and am pretty proud of it and wanted to share.  :)

5 inch clay "Venus Figurine." Soon to to be fired and glazed!

Very nice work, Lady. You're quite an artist! Will she be painted, or just clay colour? Do you do your own firing and glazing?

I haven't worked with ceramics very much. I made two dogs and a dragon, once, and had them all nicely fired but the dragon fell off my bench onto the floor and broke into about 500 pieces. I decided to stick with (relatively) unbreakable materials after that!

(Managed to sell both the dogs, though.)

Congratulations!

Thank you, Alchymist! I don't have my own kiln, per se, but I am an art teacher, so it's a perk of the job ;) I haven't decided on color or just plain white clay. I think I'll decide when it comes out of the kiln.

I really don't work with ceramics much either, usually paint, but I decided to give it a whirl today. Very happy with it!

Broken or destroyed pieces are always heartbreaking, I don't blame you! I've been paranoid all day about breaking mine haha

Thanks ES :) And thanks Drac, I made another today (much more like the Woman of Willendorf) that I dig too.

Just keeping my fingers crossed for no air bubbles! I'd be so bummed if they exploded in the kiln!

All the time, og. I usually paint, but I cross stitch,  wood burn, draw, knit, crochet! You name it  :-p
