Innerself
« on: March 19, 2011, 08:42:31 PM »

Hi there!

While I was talking to a friend of mine (Who once read into and was interested in the Wicca religion.) She had asked a very interesting question.. I didn't know the answer so I'm coming here to ask.

Is there a ritual or a spell (Not asking for one to be posted just asking if there is one) you can do to bring out your inner self?

It came up in a conversation about the moon and the goddess. I don't know how it wound up coming up, but she asked.
Any Help/Advise on what I should tell her, and I wish to retain the info myself as well haha.

Many Thanks!

What is your friend's/your definition of "inner self?"  Are we talking about loosening one's inhibitions or something more metaphysical/spiritual?

We were talking about something more spiritual, She feels as though she isnt as connected with her innerself as she "Should" be.. And so she asked. I told her I would look to find the answer. And thanks, I will let her know.

Meditation is a good skill to have all around.  Much can be accomplished on the personal level with it.  A quick note for you and your friend going forward:

Always look for a mundane solution before turning to a mystical one.  The mundane solution is generally going to be easier, faster, and (in most cases) better.

Not feeling 100% or the feeling of something missing is a common feeling this time of year. Most of us have come through winter weather, trapped indoors, too many hours in front of the computer screen or TV, and we are suffering a mild form of depression.
I know I am. Being a bookkeeper, I spend all day in front of the screen and then most of the night either talking or gaming.
Best way to get over it is get outside and get active. I've changed my office so that my desk is in front of a window and I can see outside and get some sun light.
Go for walks, go to the beach, get busy.

We can't connect with ourselves if we shut out nature for too long.

I'm always outside.. cold or hot weather, I love the out doors, The only times I'm not are when I'm feeling Ill, like now in a way, and miss school or work, but other then that I am outside soaking up the sun, out at the park with my special someone, just being out doors is peaceful. In the Rain, in the sunshine, night, or day. I love to be out doors. :)
