Greetings from a Crone
« on: June 12, 2011, 06:03:22 AM »

Greetings!
My real name is Ann. I live in the Sunshine state of Florida, but my heart never left my home in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. I hope to return there were I retire from public service in a couple of years. I'm happily married to my best friend, and have an 18 year old daughter who is the light of my life. I love to laugh, and see the humorous side of almost anything. I enjoy reading, and have a collection of rare and first edition books. I also enjoy gardening, landscaping, and various home improvement projects. I live in the woods, in the middle of a huge wilderness preserve, with my family and our pets. Being half American Indian, I have been semi-pagan all of my life. I became full-pagan about 12 years ago, when I embraced the European side of my family tree, and discovered the Old Ways. It's been a very wondrous, and interesting journey so far. I look forward to getting to know everyone here, and thank the administration for giving me this opportunity.
Blessings,
Wood Sprite

I enjoy reading, and have a collection of rare and first edition books.

Lucky you. My only first-editions is "Pet Semetary" by Stephen King and "Servant of Bones" by Anne Rice. (that one's signed, though.) I once found a first edition of one of H.P. Lovecraft's first novels. And if I had 16.000 dollars, I would have bought it.  ::)

Anyway, greetings, and welcome to the forum!

Thank you all so much!! I'm glad to be here.

Books are one of my passions. I've collected them for many years. My daughter also loves to read, and I have collected the rare & first editions so I could have something to pass on to her. It's a modest but respectable lot. It's not just something of monetary value that I can give her, but it's something that's a shared passion for both of us. To me, that makes it special. I guess the jewels of the collection is a 1st edition 6th printing of the UK publication of Lord of the Rings, and a 1st edition 3rd printing of The Color Purple. There are a few other great finds too, but those of my most prized, and they took me the longest to find. It took about 5 years to find The Color Purple for the price I was willing to pay. Patients pays off as long as you can hold out. I hate to buy something, only to learn I got riped off. So I'm a serious comparison shopper. It's kind of like buying gas. I hate to fill up, thinking I'm getting the best price I can find, then driving a mile down the road and seeing it 5-cents a gallon cheaper somewhere else. LOL

Thank you again for such a warm welcome here in the Forum.
