If they spot you your not very good at sneaking up on people . Just hope they are not armed . If you get caught think of all the free room and board you'll get .

You forget buddy, this is the UK, nobody in security is armed here. Unless of course your talking police in airports.

Dunno about the land rovers in a heritage area, but the rest is a definite possibility.

What no perimeter patrol in a vehicle . Do they have a little shack to stay in ?.

Really don't know what they do as checks, I imagine they have a quad for wide perimeter check though.

Look around on the interweb and there are good photographs of what Stonehenge looked like 50 years ago, and then compare to a present day photograph. More damage has been done in the last 50 years than in the last 5,000.

There are many of these circles with structures in the UK and parts of Europe. Stonehenge is the well known example but there are a great many locations that show evidence of these ancient structures.

If you have children and want some fun (or just want the fun on your own) build your own Stonehenge in the back garden. Obviously not on that scale, but with some simple wood poles in the ground. Find the sight lines at sunset and sunrise and observe over many months for yourself. It can promote a conversation with a child about astronomy, ancient cultures, archeology and much much more.  When a young mind is unleashed to think and see for itself (rather than being fed the thoughts of others through a reality show) it is an awesome power.

That's actually a neat idea Luc, I have had an idea about a model Stonehenge before but to create one for an interest for the kids is pretty cool.
