What authors have you read? Those sagas and myths can get pretty complicated, not to mention the Vanir/Aesir thing.  But I agree the Valkyries are awesome.

Gro Steinsland. A person recommended that version. I got a very critical view of the past.
- Rituals
- Mythology/pre-christianity
- Conversion from pagan to christianity: How it was a new idea from what they used to worship and what the new brought.

I consider getting a Thor's hammer necklace. Its what the norse did as a reaction towards christianity back then ^^

I got an old friend of mine a Mjolnir necklace since he's Norse Pagan. He was very happy about that and would often say "Hold the heathen hammer high" hehe.

I'm very interested in Norse mythology and enjoy reading it, but it can get abit complicated
as Ashe said. I'm very attracted to the Norse people and their way of life. That could be a good research project. It's always beneficial to understand the people behind the mythology.

My recon friends say thumbs up for Steinsland, she's a very reliable source.  She thoroughly researches and she isn't much influenced by Neopaganism.  Which to them is a Good Thing.  So kudo's on your choice of reading material.
